| History of reckless endangerment law |

The setting in question is a Steampunk world based roughly on 1890s Europe and America, the heroes come from the Britain equivalent, but they are familiar with American laws. I am assuming that they won't see anything wrong with risks and behaviours we would consider outrageous, but even they would draw the line somewhere.
My questions are as follows:
When did the first reckless endangerment laws come about?
In what way, if any, did they differ from modern reckless endangerment laws?
Are there any other laws that could be used against someone who has placed another human being in very grave danger? For this example we are talking about exposing someone in regular indoors clothes to a Siberian or Alaskan winter (and yes that someone died).
I have tried googling it but I couldn't find anything useful that way. |

| Cage fighting |

I'm trying to write about a cage fighter, but he's not a professional by any means, and wiki only seems to have information on MMA and the Ultimate Fighting Championship. This guy is trying to stay under the radar, so he won't be doing anything very highly regulated. I'm wondering- what are the basic rules? What kind of money can he expect?

Good help is so hard to find, so sometimes you just have to make due with what you got. Or you go out and make some good help. I had a few folks picked out already for my project. A handful of the down trodden and abused. The ones that had lost their will to do much of anything on their own. They didn't have the gumption to take care of themselves at all anymore, so I offered to take care of them. Which they gratefully accepted.
Over the weeks I'd been in Vegas, I'd taken a couple of them out to the old silver mine at a time. Leaving them there with food and water, all that they needed to take care of themselves. It wasn't a fancy place, but it was enough for them to think they were in a better place. There weren't of course. They were just lambs being led to the slaughter.
My boots crunched as I walked across the yard. The night was cool. A gentle breeze blowing off the desert. "Come now children," I called after my flock as they left the cabins and followed me into the dark tunnels. Dust filtered down from the ceiling as I led them down into the deep levels where greedy men had sold their souls for a few ounces of silver. A few of the flock with their hollow eyes sneezed. "We got good works to do tonight. Good works in deed."
In the deepest of the tunnels, a large cavern opened up. Bats screeched from the vaulted ceiling and a few of the lambs looked about ready to bolt. "Y'all be calm now. Ain't nothin' bad goin' to happen to you here. Nothin' I ain't completely in control of anyway."
I walked in a slow circle around them mumbling the words of binding as my spell took hold of their weakened minds. One by one they turned on each other, fingers curled into claws as they ripped each others eyes out. They didn't scream. They didn't cry. I watched as the blood washed over their faces with a smile. "It's been a long time since I had a makin' like this." |

Why this must be read:
This is a classic story from 1997 that merges two shows in such a fashion that it's a great read while staying true to the spirit of the originals. You don't have to be familiar with "Forever Knight" to follow the story as the intricate plot will hold your interest throughout the tale.
Solo and Kuryakin are tracing a shipment of goods when Nick pops up on their radar as a suspect. However, Nick realizes that it's actually someone else who is the guilty party so he joins forces with the agents. Unfortunately, he is handicapped by the necessity of concealing that he is a vampire.
